National Resources for Teaching and Learning
Various groups in the Federal government offer programs to support teaching and learning at the P-12 levels. Below is a collection of those resources. is the U.S. government's official web portal to all federal, state, and local government web resources and educational resources for kids, parents and teachers.

  • For Educators
    • DocsTeach - Ready to use tools for teaching with documents, a tool to create your own interactives, and an online community for collaboration are all available to support teaching with documents.
    • Professional Development - Training for teachers includes workshops, videoconferences, summer institutes, and collaborations that are all designed to to provide you with the methods and materials to teach with the primary resources from the National Archives.
  • For Students
    • National History Day - This collection of resources comes from the federal, regional and state level to help all students learn through this project format.
    • Sign the Declaration of Independence - This interactive site (Flash required) gives students the opportunity to experience the power of freedom and democracy by adding their names to the original signatures on this historic document.
