Northern Star Online

Northern Star Online is a collaborative of eight independent school districts and three educational service agencies. Building on course work developed by each of the partners, the collaboration has been created to further the state of Minnesota's goal of promoting high quality online learning.

Northern Star Online courses are designed to meet the needs of a variety of learners, including high school students looking for courses to complete credits for graduation, accommodate their school schedule, enrich their learning, access from home, compliment home or private school instruction.
Northern Star Online course work offers the same rigorous student-centered curriculum as our on-campus courses --- only the environment is different. Northern Star Online's courses have been approved by the Minnesota Department of Education.

Online learning is flexible, allowing students to work at their own pace, place and time. It's not for everyone. Some students prefer the face-to-face interactions they find in an on-campus classroom. But for many students, online course work offers a unique opportunity to learn in a new setting and in a new way.

Partners include: Bloomington Schools, Eden Prairie Schools, Edina Schools, Hopkins Schools, Osseo Schools, Richfield Schools, Wayzata Schools, Intermediate District 287, Intermediate Disstrict 916 and TIES.
